The day your dog gets out is not the day to discover the tag went blank two years ago.
Chips are great, but they need a reader. The person who finds your dog has a phone, not a scanner — so what is engraved on that tag is the whole plan.
How ours are made
Solid stainless steel or brass, deep engraved with our industrial laser to create a mark that will never fade or rub off. We are confident enough that these will last your pet's lifetime that we back them with a lifetime guarantee — if the tag ever becomes unreadable, we replace it at no charge.
Why the cheap ones go blank
There are hundreds of online shops selling engraved dog tags for a few dollars, so here is the honest difference. Many inferior tags use CO2 lasers on anodized aluminum — that method does not cut into the tag, so the marking rubs off with ordinary wear. Others use a stamping machine, which imprints the tag but can go illegible after a few years of moderate wear. Our industrial laser actually deep engraves clean, crisp text and images that will not wear or fade.
When the price difference is a few dollars and your pet's life may depend on it someday, buy the good one once.
What to put on it
Keep it short and sweet: pet name and your phone number. Emergency or health-specific information can go on the back, in case someone finds your pet and you cannot get to the phone. You can specify a font of your choice in [brackets] with your text, but keep it simple and easily readable — the goal is a stranger reading it quickly in a parking lot, not a design award.

Common questions
Stainless steel or brass — which should I pick?
Stainless is harder, hypoallergenic, and stays bright. Brass is softer, develops a patina over time, and has a classic look. Both engrave deeply and both carry the lifetime guarantee.
How much text fits?
Name and phone number on the front comfortably, with medical or emergency details on the back. More lines means smaller text, and small text on a collar defeats the purpose.
Should I put my address on it?
Most people should not. A phone number gets you a call in minutes; an address mostly tells a stranger where you live.
What if the engraving wears out?
We replace it at no charge, for the life of your pet. That is what the lifetime guarantee means.
Do you have a tag that does not jingle?
We do — the silent slide-on tag mounts flat to the collar with no ring at all.
Want the toughest option we make? That is the deep engraved titanium tag.
