We deep engrave the recipe in your loved one's own handwriting onto a quality hardwood board. And if you want to take it further: we can print a photo of your family or that loved one directly on the board, above the recipe. That version is the one that ends up permanently on a stand in the kitchen.
Getting your files right
- The recipe: a clean scan or photo works best. If the paper has ruled lines, we will attempt to remove them. In some cases an additional fee may be required for that editing
- The photo: the best quality photo you have gives the best result, though we have used cell phone pictures and produced great results
- Unsure? Send it over. We will review it and give you our best opinion before we start
Care
- Use the opposite side from the photo or engraving for food prep
- Do not soak in water — wipe clean after use and dry immediately
- Wipe the board down with a quality food-safe butcher block oil
Display options
A wooden stand is available for an additional fee, for a shelf or the top of a cupboard. To hang it on a wall, pick one of the designs with a handle and a loop so you can affix a strap.
Common questions
Can I have both a recipe and a photo on one board?
Yes — that is what makes this version different. The photo prints above the engraved recipe, so you get the handwriting and the person in one piece.
Can I still use it as a cutting board?
Use the opposite side for food prep and keep the decorated face as the display side. Do not soak it, dry it right away, and oil it periodically.
What if my recipe card has lines on it?
We will attempt to remove them. Some cards need manual editing, which may carry an additional fee — we will tell you before doing it.
Will a phone photo be good enough?
Often, yes. Send it and we will give you an honest opinion before anything gets made.
